In 1869, Cotha Krishniah Chetty founded a fine jewellery business in Bangalore’s British Cantonment, aiming to match the standards of London’s jewellers. His son, Cotha Audinarayana Chetty, expanded the vision by partnering with Mappin & Webb, The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company of London, and Rolex of Switzerland, which even crafted custom diamond-set watches bearing the C. Krishniah Chetty name a few of which remain with the company today.
